Billing And Payments
How payments work, history, invoices, refunds, failed payments, cancelling and pausing.
All DMpro payments are processed by Stripe, one of the industry’s most secure payment providers. Here is exactly how the flow works, from clicking a plan button to your card being charged.
1. Where Payments Happen
Every DMpro payment (subscription, one-time credit package, trial conversion) goes through Stripe Checkout. DMpro never sees or stores your card number.
2. The Flow
- You click Upgrade or Buy Credits in your DMpro dashboard.
- You are redirected to Stripe Checkout hosted on stripe.com.
- Enter your card details (or use a saved payment method).
- Click Pay.
- Stripe processes the payment.
- On success, you are redirected back to your DMpro dashboard.
- Your subscription or credits are activated within a few seconds.
3. What DMpro Sees
When Stripe processes your payment, they send DMpro:
- The fact that payment succeeded or failed.
- The plan or package you bought.
- The last 4 digits of your card (for reference in your billing history).
- Your billing email and country (from Stripe’s customer object).
DMpro never sees or stores:
- Your full card number.
- Your CVV.
- Your billing address (unless you explicitly add it).
4. Supported Payment Methods
Stripe supports:
- Credit and debit cards. Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover.
- Digital wallets. Apple Pay, Google Pay (on supported devices).
- Bank redirect methods. Depending on your country: iDEAL, Bancontact, SEPA, others.
- Buy Now Pay Later. Klarna, Afterpay in supported regions.
The exact options shown at checkout depend on your location.
5. Multi-Currency
Stripe charges in USD by default. If your card is issued in a different currency, your bank converts at their exchange rate. DMpro’s pricing is quoted in USD everywhere.
6. Sales Tax And VAT
Stripe calculates and adds tax based on your billing location:
- US customers: Sales tax added per state.
- EU customers: VAT added per country (rates vary).
- Canadian customers: GST/HST added per province.
- Other regions: Tax added if applicable.
Tax appears as a separate line on your Stripe invoice.
7. Payment Failures
If your payment fails at checkout:
- Stripe shows an error immediately (insufficient funds, card declined, expired).
- You can try again with the same or different card.
- No charge occurs on your DMpro account until Stripe confirms success.
For failed payments AFTER an active subscription starts (renewal failures), see “Failed Payment: Grace Period Explained”.
8. Payment Confirmation
On successful payment, you receive:
- A Stripe receipt email to your DMpro account email, within seconds.
- An in-app notification in your dashboard.
- Your credit balance updates in real time.
If the credit balance doesn’t update within 60 seconds, refresh the dashboard.
9. Payment Security
Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified, the highest security standard for payment processing. Your card data:
- Never touches DMpro’s servers.
- Is encrypted end-to-end.
- Is tokenized so Stripe (not DMpro) handles storage.
Same technology used by Amazon, Shopify, and Salesforce for their payment processing.
Related questions:
Every payment you’ve made to DMpro is visible in your dashboard. Here is where to find it and what each entry means.
1. Where To View Payment History
Go to Dashboard → Payments. Scroll to the Payment History section. You see a chronological list of all your DMpro payments.

2. What Each Entry Shows
Each payment row shows:
- Date. When Stripe processed the payment.
- Amount. The total charged (including tax).
- Type. Subscription, one-time credit package, or trial conversion.
- Status. Paid, refunded, or failed.
- Card. Last 4 digits of the card used.
- Invoice link. Download the official Stripe invoice as a PDF.
3. Filtering Payment History
The table supports filtering by:
- Date range (last 30 days, this year, custom).
- Type (subscription vs one-time).
- Status (successful, refunded).
4. Subscription Vs One-Time Payments
- Subscription payments appear monthly (or annually), automatically charged.
- One-time credit package payments appear only when you actively purchase.
- Trial conversions appear on day 4 (monthly) or day 6 (annual) after signup, if you didn’t cancel.
5. Refunded Payments
Refunded payments show with a red “Refunded” badge. The original charge amount is still visible for reference; the refund amount is shown separately.
Refund handling: see “Refund Policy”.
6. Failed Payments
Failed payments show with an orange “Failed” badge. Your subscription may be in a grace period if the failure was on a renewal. See “Failed Payment: Grace Period Explained”.
7. Exporting Payment History
Click Export CSV at the bottom of the Payment History section. All your payments download as a CSV suitable for accounting or bookkeeping.
8. Discrepancies
If a Stripe charge shows on your card statement but not in your DMpro payment history, or vice versa:
- Wait 24 hours. Occasional delays happen.
- Check the amount matches exactly.
- Confirm it’s the same Stripe account (your DMpro email).
- Contact support at [email protected] with both the DMpro side and the bank statement side.
Related questions:
Every DMpro payment generates an official Stripe invoice you can download as PDF. Here is how.
1. Finding Your Invoices
Go to Dashboard → Payments → Invoices. You see every invoice Stripe has issued to you.
2. Invoice Contents
Each invoice includes:
- Invoice number (from Stripe).
- Date of issue.
- Amount, including tax breakdown.
- Payment status (paid, open, void).
- Your billing details (email, and any billing address you’ve added).
- Line items (which plan, which credits).
- DMpro’s business info (brandID Inc., Toronto, Canada).
3. Two Download Options Per Invoice
- View. Opens the Stripe-hosted invoice page in a new tab. Includes payment status, downloadable PDF button, and any refund info.
- PDF. Direct download link to the PDF version.
4. Invoices For Subscription Renewals
Every month (or year, for annual plans), Stripe generates a new invoice for the renewal. These appear in your invoices list automatically.
If you’re on annual, only one invoice per year appears. Monthly plans get 12 per year.
5. Invoices For One-Time Credit Packages
Each purchase generates its own invoice. Multiple one-time purchases produce multiple invoices.
6. Adding Billing Information To Invoices
By default, invoices show only your email. To add a company name, address, or tax ID for accounting:
- Go to Dashboard → Payments → Billing Info.
- Fill in your company name, address, tax ID (VAT number, GST number, etc.).
- Save.
Future invoices include this information. Past invoices are not retroactively updated.
7. Downloading Multiple Invoices
DMpro doesn’t have a bulk download for invoices. Download each PDF individually. If you need many, you can export the entire payment history as CSV and use the invoice URLs to bulk-download programmatically.
8. Invoice Formatting And Compliance
Stripe invoices are compliant with:
- US IRS requirements.
- EU VAT invoice requirements.
- Canadian GST/HST invoice requirements.
- Most other countries’ basic invoice requirements.
If your accountant needs specific fields not on the invoice, contact support.
9. Requesting An Invoice For Older Payments
Invoices for all payments (going back to your account creation) are available. If you can’t find an old one, it may be because:
- The payment happened before Stripe integration was live (very early users).
- Contact support and we can generate a manual invoice.
10. Corporate Purchase Orders
DMpro accepts POs for Enterprise deals only. Contact [email protected] for PO processing. Standard invoices work for accounting purposes on all other plans.
Related questions:
DMpro’s refund policy varies by product type. Here is the full policy in plain language.
1. One-Time Credit Packages
- 30-day money-back guarantee if credits are unused. Full refund.
- Partial use: Refund of unused portion may be considered case-by-case. Contact support.
- After 30 days: No refund.
If you bought a $49 Growth one-time package and used 100 of 1,500 credits, contact support within 30 days for a prorated refund based on unused credits.
2. Monthly Subscriptions
- 3-day full refund on all monthly plans (shown on the Pricing & Plans page).
- During trial: Cancel any time; no charge.
- After the 3-day refund window: Charge is final; not refunded.

Special case: if you were charged in error (double-charged, wrong plan), contact support within 7 days for correction.
3. Annual Subscriptions
- 7-day money-back guarantee. Full refund within 7 days of the annual charge.
- After 7 days: No refund. Access continues until end of annual period.
- Canceled annual: Keeps access through end of paid year.
4. Trial Charges
Trials do not charge you. If you don’t cancel during the trial, the plan charge happens on day 4 (monthly) or day 6 (annual). That charge falls under the respective plan’s refund rules.
5. Fingerprint Block Errors
If you were incorrectly blocked and paid for a subscription you didn’t need:
- Contact support within 30 days.
- Explain the situation.
- Refunds are considered case-by-case; often granted for genuine misidentification.
6. Chargebacks And Disputes
If you dispute a charge with your bank (chargeback):
- DMpro is notified.
- Your DMpro account may be temporarily suspended pending resolution.
- We respond to Stripe’s dispute process with evidence of usage.
- Wrongful chargebacks may result in permanent account suspension.
Contact support before initiating a chargeback. We can usually resolve issues without involving your bank.
7. Refunds That Are Denied
Refunds are denied for:
- Requests outside the eligibility window (30 days for one-time, 3 days for monthly, 7 days for annual).
- Cases of clear intent to abuse (heavy usage followed by refund request).
- Chargebacks initiated after refund window expired.
8. Refund Processing Time
Approved refunds process:
- Bank charges: 5-10 business days back to the original card.
- PayPal or wallet: 2-3 business days.
You’ll get an email confirmation when the refund is processed.
9. Partial Refunds
Available for:
- Prorated refunds on unused portions (case-by-case).
- Refund of tax if you provide a valid tax exemption.
Contact support with specifics.
10. Requesting A Refund

- Your DMpro account email.
- The Stripe payment ID or invoice number.
- The reason for the request.
Standard response time: within 2 business days. Approved refunds process within 10 business days.
Related questions:
If a subscription renewal payment fails, DMpro doesn’t immediately cancel your account. There is a grace period with retry logic. Here is exactly what happens.
1. When Payment Fails
Stripe attempts to charge your saved card on your renewal date. If the charge fails (insufficient funds, expired card, bank blocked):
- Stripe marks the payment as failed.
- DMpro is notified via webhook.
- Your subscription enters
past_duestatus. - The grace period begins.
2. Grace Period Duration
The grace period is 3 days. During this time:
- You keep full access to your paid tier.
- Sends continue as normal.
- Credit balance stays as it was on renewal day (last month’s balance may still be depleting).
3. Retry Schedule
During the 3-day grace period, Stripe automatically retries the card:
- Retry 1: ~24 hours after first failure.
- Retry 2: ~48 hours after first failure.
- Retry 3: ~72 hours after first failure (final).
4. Email Notifications
You receive an email at each retry:
- Day 1: “Your DMpro payment failed. We’ll try again tomorrow.”
- Day 2: “Your DMpro payment failed again. Update your card to avoid interruption.”
- Day 3: “Final retry today. Your subscription will be canceled if this fails.”
Emails include a link to update your payment method.
5. Updating Your Card
Go to Dashboard → Payments → Update Payment Method. Enter new card details. Stripe re-attempts the charge immediately with the new card.
If the new card works, your subscription is reactivated and past_due status clears.
6. If All Retries Fail
After the 3-day grace period:
- Your subscription is canceled.
- You drop to Free (no monthly credits; one-time credits stay).
- Your existing balance may zero out (subscription credits do; one-time credits stay).
7. Resubscribing After Cancellation
You can resubscribe any time by going to Dashboard → Pricing and picking a plan. Payment methods must be updated first.
8. What About In-Flight Campaigns?
If a campaign is running when your subscription is canceled:
- The campaign continues but drains credits fast.
- When credits hit zero, the campaign transitions to
out_of_credits. - You’d need to resubscribe or buy one-time credits to resume.
9. Manually Updating Card Before Failure
Best practice: update your card before it expires. Go to Dashboard → Payments → Payment Methods and add or replace your card any time.
10. Common Failure Causes
- Card expired: Update to a new card.
- Insufficient funds: Add funds or use a different card.
- Bank blocked: Call your bank; they sometimes block foreign or unusual charges. DMpro is based in Canada, so US or EU customers occasionally see this.
- Card canceled: Get a new card and update.
Related questions:
Updating your credit card takes about 60 seconds. Here is how.
1. Where To Update
Go to Dashboard → Payments → Payment Methods. You see your currently-saved card and options to update.
2. Two Options
- Update Payment Method. Opens Stripe Customer Portal in a new tab. Add or replace your card, and Stripe handles the rest.
- Update Card Directly. Enter new card details in an embedded Stripe form.
Both routes save through Stripe with the same security.
3. Stripe Customer Portal
Clicking Update Payment Method takes you to Stripe’s hosted portal at billing.stripe.com. There you can:
- Add a new card.
- Delete an old card.
- Set a default payment method (if multiple cards).
- Update billing address.
- Download past invoices.
4. When To Update
- Your card is about to expire. Update to a new card before the expiration date.
- You want to change the card charged. Add a new one, remove the old.
- Your address changed. For accurate invoicing and tax calculation.
- Your card was canceled or replaced. Even if the card number is similar, you need to add the new details.
5. Behind The Scenes
DMpro never sees your card number. Stripe stores the card and gives DMpro a token. DMpro uses that token to trigger future charges without ever handling raw card data.
When you update your card, the old token is deleted and a new one is created. Your subscription automatically uses the new token for future charges.
6. Multiple Cards
Stripe supports multiple saved cards per customer. You can add a personal card and a business card, and pick which is the default.
7. Removing A Card
Go to Stripe Customer Portal → Payment Methods → Delete. If you delete your only card, DMpro cannot process future charges. Subscription eventually cancels if no new card is added.
8. What Happens To Existing Charges When You Update
- Past charges: Not affected. Already processed.
- Pending charges (like a scheduled renewal): Use the new card.
- In-progress trial: Uses the new card for the trial conversion charge.
9. Failed Update
If your update fails at Stripe (invalid card, wrong CVV, etc.), the old card remains active. Fix the issue and try again.
Related questions:
Canceling takes about 30 seconds. Access continues until the end of your billing period. Here is exactly how.
1. Where To Cancel
Go to Dashboard → Payments → Cancel Subscription. Click the button.
2. Confirmation Flow
DMpro shows a cancellation form:
- Reason for canceling (optional; helps us improve).
- Feedback (optional; free text).
- Cancel button.
You can also choose:
- Cancel at period end (default). You keep access until your paid period runs out.
- Cancel immediately (rare; asks for confirmation twice).
3. What Happens On “Cancel At Period End”
- Your subscription is marked to cancel on the last day of your current period.
- You keep full access until that day.
- Your credit balance stays.
- No further charges will happen.
- Next month, you drop to free tier (or lose access entirely if you delete during cancellation).
4. What Happens On “Cancel Immediately”
- Your subscription ends now.
- Access is downgraded to free tier immediately.
- Prorated refund for the unused portion of your period is offered (case-by-case; not guaranteed for monthly plans).
Rare but occasionally requested for security reasons.
5. Undoing A Pending Cancellation
If you canceled but haven’t reached the end of your period yet:
- Go to Dashboard → Payments.
- Click Undo Cancellation on the pending cancellation banner.
Your subscription continues at your current tier without interruption.
6. Cancellation During Trial
Canceling during your trial:
- No charge occurs.
- You revert to Free (no monthly credits; one-time credits stay).
- Immediate effect.
Cancel from the same Dashboard → Payments → Cancel flow.
7. What Gets Canceled
- Auto-renewal: Yes, stopped.
- Existing credits: Preserved through end of period, then subscription credits zero out.
- One-time credits: Preserved forever.
- Account itself: Not deleted. To delete your account, see “How To Delete Your DMpro Account?”.
8. Reason For Canceling Options
When canceling, you can pick from:
- Too expensive.
- Didn’t use it enough.
- Instagram/TikTok issues.
- Prompt quality.
- Missing a feature.
- Just trying something else.
- Other (free text).
Optional but helpful for us. Your reason is anonymized and used to improve the product.
9. Special Cancellation Reasons
For unique situations (Enterprise contract, custom deal, etc.), contact support directly. Standard cancellation may not apply.
Related questions:
Instead of canceling, you can pause your DMpro subscription for 1, 2, or 3 months. Here is how it works.
1. What Pausing Does
Pausing:
- Stops auto-renewal for the pause duration.
- Doesn’t charge you during the pause.
- Auto-resumes at the end of the pause.
- Preserves your prompts, campaigns, and settings.
Contrast with cancellation, which stops auto-renewal permanently (you have to manually re-subscribe).
2. When To Pause vs Cancel
- Pause: Temporary break (vacation, seasonal business, testing another tool).
- Cancel: Permanent stop or extended break.
3. How To Pause
- Go to Dashboard → Payments → Pause Subscription.
- Pick pause duration: 1, 2, or 3 months.
- Confirm.
4. During The Pause
- No charges.
- Access downgrades to Free (no monthly credits; one-time credits stay).
- One-time credits remain accessible.
- Prompts and campaigns preserved.
5. When The Pause Ends
On the pause end date:
- Your subscription auto-resumes.
- Your card is charged for the next month.
- Credit balance refreshes to your tier’s monthly amount.
- All paid features unlocked again.
You get an email 3 days before the resume date as a reminder.
6. Extending A Pause
Before the pause ends, you can extend:
- Go to Dashboard → Payments.
- Click Extend Pause.
- Add up to 3 more months.
Total pause length cannot exceed 6 months. After 6 months paused, DMpro either resumes automatically or cancels the subscription based on your setting.
7. Resuming Early
Before the pause ends, you can resume manually:
- Go to Dashboard → Payments.
- Click Resume Now.
- Card is charged; subscription active immediately.
8. Trial Restrictions
You cannot pause during your initial trial. Pausing is only available on active paid subscriptions.
9. Canceling During A Pause
If you decide to cancel while paused, go to Dashboard → Payments → Cancel. Your subscription ends at the current pause end date (no earlier).
10. Which Plans Support Pausing
All paid plans (Starter, Growth, Professional, Enterprise) support pausing. Not available on free tier.
Related questions:
DMpro uses Stripe Customer Portal for advanced subscription management. Here is when to use it and what’s available.
1. What The Portal Is
Stripe Customer Portal is a hosted page at billing.stripe.com where you manage:
- Payment methods (add, remove, set default).
- Billing address.
- Past invoices (view and download).
- Cancel or update subscription (if enabled).
DMpro embeds a link to this portal for advanced management.
2. How To Access
Go to Dashboard → Payments → Update Payment Method or Manage Subscription in Stripe. Both open the Stripe portal in a new tab.
3. Portal Vs Dashboard
For most needs, use DMpro’s dashboard:
- View credits.
- Cancel subscription.
- Upgrade or downgrade.
- View recent invoices.
For advanced needs, use Stripe portal:
- Multiple payment methods.
- Detailed invoice history (all-time).
- Downloadable PDF invoices for old payments.
- Billing address updates.
- Tax ID (for VAT/GST accounting).
4. Access Requirements
The portal identifies you by your Stripe customer email (your DMpro account email). You may need to enter that email on Stripe’s portal to authenticate.
5. Sessions
Portal sessions expire after 24 hours. You’ll be asked to re-authenticate if you visit again.
6. What You Can’t Do In The Portal
- Buy DMpro credits or plans (do this from DMpro).
- Change your DMpro-specific settings.
- View your generation credit balance.
Anything DMpro-specific happens on the dashboard. Anything payment-specific happens in the portal.
7. Multi-Account Portal Access
If you have multiple DMpro accounts (personal + business), each has its own Stripe customer object. Access them separately from each DMpro dashboard.
8. Enterprise Custom Portal
Enterprise customers may have a custom billing arrangement (net-30 invoices, etc.) that bypasses the standard portal. Contact your account manager for details.
Related questions:
Canceling doesn’t immediately delete your credits. Here is exactly what happens to each credit type.
1. Subscription Credits
- During the remaining billing period: Still usable. Your subscription is active until the last day.
- At period end: You drop to Free, which has no monthly credits. One-time credits stay.
Example: If you cancel a Growth plan on the 10th of March and your period runs until the 25th, you have from the 10th to the 25th to use your remaining 500-2000 subscription credits.
2. One-Time Credits
- Preserved permanently. Never expire.
- Not affected by cancellation.
If you had 500 one-time credits when you canceled, you have 500 one-time credits 6 months later. They’re yours to use.
3. Free Tier Credits
- Reset monthly on your billing anniversary.
- Also don’t roll over.
After canceling, you are on Free, which has no monthly credits. One-time credits stay in your account.
4. Coupon Wallet Credits
Any credits you earned via coupons (bonus credits, tier upgrades) stay attached to your account:
- Subscription-tied coupon credits: Zero out when subscription ends.
- One-time coupon credits: Preserved forever.
See “The Coupon Wallet” for the full breakdown.
5. Gift Link Credits
Active gift link subscriptions:
- Continue until the gift’s natural expiry. Canceling a Stripe subscription doesn’t affect an active gift (they’re separate).
- After gift expiry: You drop to free tier.
See “What Happens When Your Gift Expires?” for details.
6. Credit Balance Timeline After Cancel
Assuming Growth plan with 500 subscription credits + 200 one-time credits at cancel time:
| Time | Subscription | One-time | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cancel day | 500 | 200 | 700 |
| End of period | 10 (free) | 200 | 210 |
| Next month | 10 (free) | 200 | 210 |
| … forever, until you use one-time or resubscribe. |
7. Resubscribing With Credits Preserved
If you cancel and later resubscribe:
- One-time credits: Still there.
- New subscription: Fresh monthly allocation added on top.
Two pools coexist as usual.
8. Deleting Account Vs Canceling
- Cancel: Keeps account, keeps one-time credits, drops to free tier.
- Delete: Removes account entirely, all credits lost.
If you want to permanently leave DMpro, cancel first, then request deletion via support.
9. Automatic Credit Expiry
Credits do not expire based on time (except subscription credits at month end / period end). One-time credits and coupon credits stay until used or account deletion.
