How to send your first DM from a profile
Open an Instagram or TikTok profile, let DMpro write or fill in a DM and send it, in the extension’s Single Profile mode. It takes about a minute.
Before you start
- The DMpro extension installed and signed in
- Instagram or TikTok open and signed in in the same Chrome
- An active prompt, or a saved own DM
- At least 1 credit
Open the profile and the side panel
In Chrome, go to the profile you want to message, for example instagram.com/example or tiktok.com/@example. Click the DMpro icon in the toolbar. The side panel opens next to the page. DMpro sends from the account that is signed in to Instagram or TikTok in this browser. It never asks for that account’s password.
Choose Single Profile
At the top of the panel, make sure Single Profile is selected. The other choice, Bulk Campaign, runs a whole list.
Check what DMpro will send
The chip under the toggle shows how the DM is written:
- Active prompt with the prompt’s name: the AI writes a new message for this person. 1 credit per message written.
- Your own DM with the DM’s name: DMpro fills in the own DM you wrote. Filling in is free, and 1 credit is used per DM sent.
To change it, open Prompts and Messages from your initials menu.
Make sure the right profile is loaded
The panel shows the profile it read. If you moved to another profile, click the Refresh button next to the profile first. DMpro refuses to write while the panel shows someone else and says “Tap Refresh to load @name first, so the message is written for the right person”.
Decide whether DMpro should send it
The Auto Send DMs switch is on the main screen under the message, and it is on by default. For your first DM, turn it off so you can read the message before anything is sent.
Click Generate or Fill in
In AI Prompt mode, click Generate. The AI writes the message in a few seconds. In Your Own DM mode the button reads Fill in and your own DM is filled in for this person instantly.
What you should see next depends on the switch:
- Auto Send DMs on: DMpro sends the message and shows “Auto-DM sent successfully to @username!”.
- Auto Send DMs off: the message stays in the box. Edit it if you like, click Copy To Clipboard, open the person’s DMs and paste it yourself.
Move on to the next profile
Open the next profile, click Refresh, then Generate or Fill in again. If Smart Message Update is on Automatic and a message is already in the box, Refresh writes the next message by itself, and with Auto Send DMs on it also sends it.
Tips
- Keep Auto Send DMs off for your first 10 to 20 DMs while you check the wording, then turn it on.
- The single-profile Auto Send DMs switch does not affect campaigns. Each campaign has its own Auto-send DMs checkbox.
- Single-profile DMs are not limited by Safety Mode or the daily limit, so pace yourself.
If something goes wrong
DMpro says “Already messaged” or “Duplicate messages prevented!”
You have messaged this person before. At “Already messaged” you can choose Skip or Generate & send again. “DM already sent to @username – Duplicate messages prevented!” means DMpro did not send a second DM, and no credit is used for an own DM.
The message says it was written for a different profile.
“Not sent: this message was written for @name…” means the tab now shows another profile. Go back to the right profile, or click Refresh to write a message for the new one.
The upgrade window opens instead of a message.
You are out of credits. Check your balance in the extension header and on the dashboard Overview, then upgrade, buy a one-time package or wait for your subscription to renew.
