Gift Links
Gift links are issued by the contactID team and add credits, subscription time, or a signature-free period to your account the moment you redeem them.
A gift link is a special link issued only by the contactID team, through support, a partnership, or a promotion. Opening and redeeming one adds a bonus to whichever account redeems it.
Gift links can grant:
- Website credits. A set number of credits added straight to your credits meter.
- A subscription period. Extra time added to your plan.
- A signature-free period. A stretch of time where your outgoing messages skip the “Sent via contactID extension” line.
Gift links are not something users create or sell themselves. Every gift link is issued directly by contactID, which keeps rewards traceable and prevents them from being resold or duplicated.
No. contactID accounts, free or paid, can’t generate their own gift links. If you want to bring a friend or colleague onto contactID, the right tool is your own referral link, not a gift link.
Share your personal referral link from the Referrals page in your dashboard. Every friend who signs up through it gets a welcome bonus on top of the normal free credits, and you earn rewards as they use the product. See the Referrals & Rewards article for the full breakdown.
For business or partnership cases, such as gifting a client, partner, or event attendee a batch of credits, contact support. The team can issue a gift link on your behalf.
Open the link while signed in to your contactID account, or sign in when prompted. The gift applies instantly.
- Website credits show up right away in your credits meter.
- An extra subscription period or signature-free period shows on your Plan & Billing page.
If you’re already signed in when you open the link, it applies to that account right away and the page tells you on the spot whether it worked. If the link doesn’t work, it may be expired, already redeemed, restricted to a specific email address, already have a paid plan on the account, or a gift is already running on that account (gifts don’t stack). Contact support with the link and the email address you used, and the team can look into it.
Every gift link carries its own rules, set by contactID when it was issued:
- Expiry date. Some links expire after a set window; others don’t.
- Redemption limit. A link may be single-use, or it may allow multiple redemptions.
- Email restriction. A link may be locked to one email address, or limited to new accounts only (created in the last 7 days, with no paid plan before).
- No stacking on a paid plan. A paid subscriber can’t redeem a gift, since a gift never replaces a plan you’re already paying for, and a second gift can’t be added while one is already running.
While the gift runs, the gifted plan’s monthly allowance is yours to use. When it ends, any unused allowance ends with it and the account returns to pay as you go, though credits you bought yourself are untouched. You get a reminder three days before it ends, and again when it ends, so you can choose to keep the plan if you want to.
