How to choose your persona and finish onboarding
Pick Brand, Creator or Business, answer the five onboarding steps and get a starter prompt that matches. It takes about two minutes.
Before you start
- A DMpro account
- For the Brand persona: an Ainfluencer account with at least one active campaign
- Optional: your brandID handle (Creator) or a short description of your offer (Business)
Open onboarding
Onboarding opens by itself after you create your account. If you closed it, the dashboard shows Finish setting up your DMpro account with Continue setup, and the extension shows Finish your setup with Continue. To run it again later, click Onboarding at the top of the dashboard.
Pick your persona
The first screen asks What brings you to DMpro?. Click one card, then Next:
- I’m a Brand or Agency: you want to find and DM creators for your product, service or campaign.
- I’m a Creator or Influencer: you want brand collaborations and want to pitch brands.
- I run a Business or Service: you want DMs for lead generation, sales or recruiting.
The persona does not limit what you can do. Every persona can send on Instagram and TikTok, run campaigns and choose any plan.
Fill in the details for your persona
- Brand: sign in to Ainfluencer and click the campaign your DMs should promote. This step is required. See the Ainfluencer guide.
- Creator: optionally connect your brandID page, then choose what you pitch under What are you pitching brands?. See the brandID guide.
- Business: pick your business type (required), then optionally describe your offer and ideal customer. DMpro keeps up to 500 characters of each.
Choose your platform and country
On Which platform?, pick Instagram, TikTok or Both (selected by default), then choose Your country. The country is required, so Next stays grayed out until you pick one.
Your platform choice does not stop you from sending on the other platform. It is saved with your account, and your country appears on the Profile page.
Review your starter prompt
Your perfect prompt is ready previews the prompt DMpro will add. Brand gets “Recruit Creators, Active Campaign”, Creator gets a prompt whose name starts with “Pitch Brands”, and Business gets a cold outreach prompt for your business type, such as “SaaS Cold Outreach”.
Add your handles and click Finish
Type your Instagram and TikTok handles if you like (both are optional) and decide whether to keep the product updates checkbox on. Click Finish.
Your starter prompt now appears in Prompts and Messages as your active prompt, next to the “Default Prompt”.
Tips
- The extension has its own copy of the same five steps and saves to the same account, so you only need to finish onboarding once.
- If you pitch in more than one way, keep a prompt for each role and set the right one active before you send.
- A brand or agency that does not use Ainfluencer can pick I run a Business or Service instead.
If something goes wrong
Next stays grayed out.
The current step is not complete. Brand needs an Ainfluencer connection and a selected campaign, Business needs a business type, and step 3 needs a country.
I clicked Skip or the close button and lost my answers.
Both close onboarding without saving your answers. Only an Ainfluencer connection and a campaign you clicked are saved right away. Click Continue setup, or Onboarding at the top of the dashboard, to start again.
My brandID details disappeared after I ran onboarding again.
When you restart onboarding from the dashboard, the brandID step starts unconnected. If you click Finish without clicking Connect brandID again, your brandID details are removed. Connect it again before you finish.
