Plans & Billing

Solopreneur, Pay-as-you-go, Business, and Enterprise plans. Stripe and PayPal payments, billing cycles, PAYG top-ups, auto-recharge, and refunds.

signID has four plan tiers:

  • Solopreneur (free): individuals, occasional use
  • Pay-as-you-go (PAYG): usage-based, no monthly commitment
  • Business: main paid tier for teams (badged “popular”)
  • Enterprise: largest tier for platforms and organizations
About prices. Illustrative default prices come from signID’s design mockup and are configurable by the operator. Specific dollar amounts are typical, not authoritative, check the current pricing page on signID for live numbers.

The Solopreneur plan is free and is the default when you sign up. Typical illustrative limits:

  • 1 seat (just you)
  • Up to 3 signers per envelope
  • ~5 MB max upload
  • ~7 envelopes per month
  • Basic signing features included
  • API access, webhooks, bulk send, custom branding, embedded signing: not included

Great for trying signID out or occasional personal use (e.g. signing your own agreements as a freelancer). If you hit the monthly envelope limit, wait for the next cycle or upgrade.

Pay-as-you-go (PAYG) is a usage-based option with no monthly base charge. You:

  1. Fund a prepaid balance via Stripe (typically $5 to $100 per top-up)
  2. Get a configurable number of free contracts per month (default 7) before charges kick in
  3. Beyond the free allotment, pay per signer on each send

If your balance runs out during a send, the send is blocked with a clear “insufficient balance” response, no surprise charges.

PAYG suits: intermittent senders (some months busy, some quiet) and platforms building signID into their own product without a per-seat model.

Business is signID’s main team plan. Illustrative defaults:

  • ~$9 to $12 per seat depending on billing cycle
  • Multiple seats, invite your team
  • Higher upload size limit
  • Much higher monthly envelope quota
  • API access, webhooks, bulk send, custom branding: included
  • Embedded signing: available (rolling out)
  • AI features with higher daily allowance

Business is the right choice for most companies actively sending contracts.

Enterprise is for the largest customers, typically platforms embedding signID or organizations with strict compliance requirements. Illustrative defaults are ~$118 to $157 depending on cycle. Adds:

  • Very high or custom envelope and API limits
  • Priority support
  • Custom AI budgets and allowances
  • Advanced admin controls

Enterprise features on the roadmap (advertised but not yet shipped):

  • SSO (SAML 2.0 / OIDC)
  • Custom domains (signing on your own hostname)

Plans carry feature flags that gate specific capabilities. The key flags enforced:

  • apiAccess: use the Partner API (Business, Enterprise)
  • webhookAccess: configure outbound webhooks (Business, Enterprise)
  • customBranding: white-label branding (Business, Enterprise)
  • bulkSend: CSV bulk send (Business, Enterprise)
  • embeddedSigning: embedded iframe signing (Business, Enterprise; rolling out)

Solopreneur and PAYG do not include these flags by default. If you downgrade from a plan that had a flag to one that doesn’t, related resources (API keys, webhook configs, etc.) are automatically revoked.

signID supports three billing cycles:

  • Monthly: highest per-cycle cost, most flexible
  • Quarterly: ~10% discount versus monthly
  • Yearly: ~25% discount versus monthly (default selection)

Discounts are illustrative defaults from the design mockup. Actual discounts may vary. The in-app toggle shows current pricing for each cycle on your plan page.

Tip. Yearly billing offers the biggest savings but locks you in longer. Monthly is safer if you’re still evaluating whether signID fits.

The primary payment method for subscriptions is Stripe. You get:

  • Credit card and debit card support
  • Support for Apple Pay and Google Pay where available
  • Automatic renewal at your cycle end
  • An invoice for each cycle (email + downloadable PDF)
  • A billing portal for updating card details, viewing history, and downloading invoices

Payment failures trigger email notification and a grace period before your plan downgrades to Solopreneur.

signID supports PayPal for subscriptions, with these constraints:

  • PayPal supports monthly and yearly cycles (not quarterly)
  • Subscriptions renew automatically like Stripe
  • Managed via PayPal’s own subscription management UI
Note. PayPal is available for main plan subscriptions but not for PAYG top-ups or AI Wallet top-ups. Those are Stripe-only.

To fund your PAYG balance:

  1. Go to Settings → Billing → PAYG balance
  2. Click Add funds and pick an amount ($5 to $100 range)
  3. Complete Stripe Checkout
  4. Balance appears immediately after Stripe confirms

Top-ups are one-time payments, not subscriptions. You can top up as many times as you want without any recurring charge.

Auto-recharge tops up PAYG automatically when your balance drops below a threshold. Configure in Settings → Billing → PAYG → Auto-recharge:

  • Threshold: trigger when balance drops below this amount
  • Recharge amount: how much to add each time
  • Daily cap: maximum auto-recharge per day (default $50)

Safeguards: if a recharge fails twice in a row, auto-recharge is disabled and you’re notified. This prevents runaway spend on a broken card.

You can pause a Business or Enterprise subscription temporarily instead of full cancellation. Paused subscriptions:

  • Stop billing at the end of the current cycle
  • Downgrade you to Solopreneur limits
  • Can be resumed anytime, restoring the paid plan without needing to re-subscribe
  • Preserve your workspace, templates, envelopes, and API keys (though API access is disabled while paused)

Useful for seasonal use, hiring freezes, or evaluating whether to switch tools.

Cancel from Settings → Billing → Cancel subscription. On cancellation:

  • You stay on your current plan through the end of the paid period
  • At period end, you’re downgraded to Solopreneur (free)
  • Your data (envelopes, templates, workspace) is retained

14-day refund window: if you subscribed within the last 14 days and cancel, you’re eligible for a full refund. After 14 days, refunds are prorated or unavailable depending on the specific case, contact support to discuss.

Change plans anytime from Settings → Billing:

  • Upgrade: effective immediately, prorated charge for the remainder of the cycle
  • Downgrade: effective at the end of the current cycle (you keep the higher tier until then)

If a downgrade removes a feature flag your workspace currently uses (e.g. going from Business to Solopreneur turns off API access):

  • API keys are auto-revoked
  • Webhook configs are disabled
  • Custom branding stops applying to new sends
  • Existing envelopes and sealed documents are unaffected
