Brandwatch Review (2026): Features, Pricing, Pros & Cons

Brandwatch is best known as a social listening and consumer intelligence platform, one of the largest in the world. Since 2022 it has also sold a full social media management product, built on Falcon.io, which covers publishing, an inbox, analytics and advertising. It is owned by Cision and aimed at large brands and agencies, and like most enterprise tools it has no public price list and no free trial.

This review explains what Brandwatch sells today, how its products fit together, what we know and do not know about pricing, what users say on G2, where it is weak and who it suits. Product facts come from Brandwatch’s own website, help center and press releases, plus public sources for company history, checked on 7 October 2026. Where Brandwatch does not publish a fact, we say so.

Key Takeaways

Key Takeaways
  • What it is: an enterprise suite of Consumer Intelligence (listening and research), Social Media Management (publishing, inbox, analytics), Influence and Search Intelligence, with Iris AI across them.
  • Pricing: quote-only. Brandwatch publishes no prices, offers no free trial and sells through a demo. We do not quote any figure.
  • Strengths: a very large listening archive (1.4 to 1.7 trillion conversations, depending on the page), a full social suite, case management, and ISO 27001:2022 certification.
  • Weaknesses: you cannot publish one post to several networks at once, TikTok and Threads DMs are not supported, and G2 users describe a learning curve and publishing restrictions.
  • Ownership: Brandwatch is part of Cision, which restructured its debt in 2024 and 2025. That is worth asking about in any multi-year contract.
  • Reputation: 4.4 out of 5 on G2 for Consumer Intelligence (728 reviews) and 4.0 for Social Media Management (983 reviews).

What Is Brandwatch?

Brandwatch started as a listening tool, and that is still its core. Consumer Intelligence, the product that grew out of Brandwatch Analytics and Crimson Hexagon, lets teams search billions of public conversations across social networks, news, blogs, forums and review sites, then analyze sentiment, topics and trends. Brandwatch says the archive holds 1.7 trillion conversations dating back to 2010 on one page and more than 1.4 trillion dating back to 2008 on others, so we quote both.

The second leg is Social Media Management. Cision bought Falcon.io in 2019 and merged it into Brandwatch around 2022, and the result is a publishing, engagement and measurement product. Brandwatch’s current navigation lists Consumer Intelligence, Social Media Management, Influencer Marketing, Media Intelligence and Insights, Search Intelligence and APIs. The older Reviews product has been retired, and its review sources now live inside Consumer Intelligence.

Key Features of Brandwatch

1. Social Media Management: publishing and approvals

Brandwatch’s social suite includes Publish, Engage, Measure, Advertise, Audience, Listen and Benchmark modules. You can connect Facebook (including Messenger), Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, WhatsApp, TikTok, Google, Pinterest and Threads, and advertising accounts for Facebook and LinkedIn.

Publish offers a week and month calendar with filters, a shared content pool, labels, bulk import, UTM templates and link shortening, a photo editor and connections to OneDrive, Google Drive and Bynder. There is one significant limit: Brandwatch’s help center says it is not possible to create and publish a post to multiple networks at the same time. You can post to several channels within one network, except X, which allows one channel per post. G2 reviewers describe scheduling as tedious for this reason.

Approvals are role based. Admins and Editors can publish directly, while Content Creators must submit posts. Approval can require one approver, any of several, or an ordered chain, and only global Admins and Editors can approve. If a post is not approved by its scheduled time, it does not publish, and there are no automatic reminders. The Quick Publish mobile app can submit posts but cannot approve them.

2. Engage: inbox and case management

Engage is the social inbox. It offers feeds with filters, a spam filter, saved replies, automation rules, audience profile cards, and Iris-suggested replies. Case Management launched in June 2024 so teams can track customer issues from start to finish.

Direct messages are supported on Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn Company Pages and WhatsApp, subject to API limits on some networks. TikTok and Threads direct messages are not supported. Google is limited to reviews, and comments are supported on the main networks. Comments on promoted Instagram posts only appear if the ad account is connected. A Salesforce integration is advertised.

3. Measure, Benchmark, Audience and Advertise

Measure provides performance dashboards. Brandwatch’s page claims seven years of competitive channel analytics and 12 months of historical consumer data for listening inside the social suite. Benchmark compares your accounts with more than 300,000 brands across Facebook, X, Instagram and YouTube, keeps two years of history, offers AI-written summaries and exports to CSV, PDF and PowerPoint.

Audience builds a customer profile database automatically from Engage interactions, with profile cards, segments, labels and profile merging. Advertise lets teams manage Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn ads from the same tool.

4. Consumer Intelligence: listening and research

Consumer Intelligence covers X, Tumblr, Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Threads and Bluesky, plus news, blogs, forums, reviews from Google, Amazon, Glassdoor and Trustpilot, and uploaded data. Brandwatch claims about 100 million sources and around 500 million new conversations every day.

It includes more than 50 visualizations, custom classifiers, image analysis, Social Panels and exports to Excel, PowerPoint, PDF and API. Vizia is an add-on that turns the data into real-time dashboards for command centers. The G2 listing gives 31 languages for Consumer Intelligence and English only for Social Media Management.

5. Iris AI and Signals

Iris is Brandwatch’s AI layer. Features include Ask Iris, Quick Search, a Query Writer, intelligent dashboards, a writing assistant and content performance analysis. Signals sends smart alerts when your data shifts, and Peak Detection spots spikes. In December 2024 Brandwatch announced React Score, a reputation rating based on harm, spam and emotion, and generative AI features built with partners including OpenAI and Google Cloud.

6. Influence and Search Intelligence

Influence, formerly Paladin, covers creator discovery across Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Snapchat, Facebook and Twitch, with a creator CRM, contracts, content approvals, white-label dashboards and payments in more than 120 currencies. It claims access to over 65 million creators. Search Intelligence, powered by Trajaan, tracks visibility across Google, Amazon, TikTok, Baidu and AI engines such as ChatGPT.

7. Mobile apps, API and integrations

Two mobile apps exist. Quick Publish handles text, single image, video and link posts for Facebook, Instagram, X and LinkedIn, but no carousels or Stories. The Hub app publishes Instagram Stories natively. We could not confirm a mobile inbox app. The social suite has documented APIs for teams, channels, content, publishing, campaigns, engage and measure, plus webhooks, and there is a separate Consumer Research API. LinkedIn, Threads and TikTok accounts can only be connected to one organization within a Brandwatch suite.

8. Security, hosting and support

Brandwatch says all its products are ISO 27001:2022 certified, uses TLS 1.2 and 1.3, AES-256 encrypted backups, monthly vulnerability testing and an annual independent penetration test. Single sign-on works through SAML 2.0, and the social suite also supports OpenID Connect. We could not verify SOC 2 reports. Hosting varies: Consumer Intelligence raw data is on AWS in the US, its front end on Google Cloud in Europe, social management on AWS and Google Cloud in the EU except Listening, which is US and UK.

Customers get free access to Brandwatch Academy with courses, certifications and an onboarding path, and some contracts include expert hours. Support hours and service levels are not published.

Brandwatch’s pricing page says standard to enterprise plans are available for each solution, and its only call to action is to schedule a free demo. G2 lists a single custom edition for each product and states that no free trial is available. Minimum contract length and the pricing basis, such as users, queries or channels, are not published.

What we do not know
We found no reliable public price for Brandwatch, so we do not give one. Third-party estimates exist online but are not Brandwatch statements. When you request a quote, ask which products and modules are included, how usage is counted, the contract term and renewal notice, what Vizia and extra queries cost, and whether onboarding and training are included. G2 reviewers report average implementation of about two months for Consumer Intelligence and one month for Social Media Management, which is third-party opinion.

Who Owns Brandwatch?

Brandwatch is part of Cision, a public relations and media software company. Cision announced the acquisition in February 2021 for 450 million dollars and closed it on 1 June 2021. Cision itself has been owned by the private equity firm Platinum Equity since January 2020.

Brandwatch has grown through acquisitions: Crimson Hexagon (merged in 2018), Qriously (2019) and Paladin, now Influence (2022). Falcon.io was bought by Cision in January 2019 and combined with Brandwatch in 2022. Conversocial is a partnership, not an acquisition.

This matters for buyers because of Cision’s finances. Third-party reporting in late 2024 described heavy debt and a restructuring process at Cision. In April 2025 Cision said it closed about 250 million dollars of new financing and extended its debt maturities, and its release did not state any change of ownership. None of that reporting covered Brandwatch’s own finances, and we could not verify any ownership change in 2026. It is reasonable to ask a seller about product roadmap and continuity before signing a multi-year contract.

What Users Say About Brandwatch

Brandwatch is rated separately on G2 for its two main products. This is third-party opinion, not our own testing, and many sampled reviews are tagged as incentivized through a seller invite.

Product on G2RatingReviewsCommon praiseCommon criticism
Consumer Intelligence4.4 out of 5728Data coverage, intuitive dashboards, actionable insights, supportSteep learning curve, limited features, sentiment accuracy
Social Media Management4.0 out of 5983Centralized management, scheduling, AI replies and spam filterPublishing restrictions, tedious scheduling, missing features, price

Reviewers of the social product specifically mention that you must choose a channel and platform for each post, that bulk actions can be slow, and that setup is complicated. We could not verify Capterra figures because the page was behind a bot check.

How to Get Started With Brandwatch

  • Step 1. Decide what you need. List whether you need listening, publishing, an inbox, influencer work or all four.
  • Step 2. Request a demo. Use the demo form on Brandwatch’s website and pick the product you care about.
  • Step 3. Ask about packaging. Confirm which modules, queries and users are in your quote.
  • Step 4. Test the limits. Try multi-network scheduling, approvals and the channels you rely on.
  • Step 5. Check the contract. Ask about term length, renewal notice and what happens to your data.
  • Step 6. Compare quotes. Get at least one alternative quote before you sign.

Final Verdict

Brandwatch is a heavyweight in listening and consumer intelligence, and its social media management product makes it a credible one-vendor choice for large teams. Its strengths are data coverage, analytics, AI and security. Its weaknesses are the lack of public pricing, a learning curve, publishing limits such as no multi-network posts, and the questions that come with its parent company’s debt history.

Choose it if listening and research are central to your work and you have an enterprise budget. For a team that mainly needs to schedule posts and answer messages, a tool with public pricing and a free trial will be quicker to adopt. Compare it with the other tools in our guide to the best social media management tools before you book a demo.
