Coupons & Gift Links

How coupon codes and discounts work, how gift links grant free paid access, and how to redeem, track, or troubleshoot either one.

Coupons are promotional codes that give you a discount, bonus credits, an extended trial, or another reward. They come from a few places: marketing campaigns (holiday sales, launch discounts), your personal referral code, partner promotions, or an occasional goodwill gesture from support.

DMpro has six coupon types: percent off, amount off, bonus credits, trial extension, free months, and tier upgrade. Each applies differently: percent and amount off apply at your next subscription charge, bonus credits are added immediately, a trial extension applies to your active trial, free months apply to your next billing month(s), and a tier upgrade applies immediately and reverts once its duration ends.

Monetary coupons (percent off, amount off) do not stack with each other. Non-monetary coupons (credits, trial extension, free months) can stack. Some coupons explicitly disallow stacking regardless of type, and the exact rules for a given coupon are shown when you redeem it.

Every coupon has an expiry. An unredeemed coupon expires on its set date and can no longer be redeemed. Once redeemed, the effect applies according to the coupon type, and that effect may have its own separate duration (for example, a tier upgrade that lasts one month).

If you redeem a coupon and then refund the purchase it was tied to, bonus credits may be revoked if unspent, trial extensions are removed, and tier upgrades are reverted. Refund edge cases are handled individually by support.

There are three places to enter a coupon code:

At checkout

  1. Go to Dashboard → Pricing, pick a plan, and click Subscribe or Upgrade.
  2. On the Stripe Checkout page, click Add promotion code.
  3. Enter your code (it is not case-sensitive) and click Apply.
  4. If valid, the discount shows immediately. Complete the purchase to lock it in.

In your Coupon Wallet (for non-monetary coupons)

Bonus credits, trial extensions, and free months can be redeemed outside checkout: go to Dashboard → Payments → Coupon Wallet, click Redeem A Coupon, enter the code, and click Apply.

In the extension, at sign-up

The extension’s auth screen has a “Have a promo code?” field. Enter it during sign-up and it applies to your new account.

Codes are case-insensitive and whitespace-tolerant. “WELCOME20” and “welcome20” are treated the same, and DMpro strips leading/trailing spaces or stray periods automatically.

On success you’ll see a green “Coupon applied” banner describing the effect, and the coupon moves into your wallet’s Redeemed section. If it doesn’t apply, the most common reasons are an invalid or mistyped code, an expired code, a single-use code already redeemed, an unmet restriction (minimum plan, interval, new-users-only), or an attempt to stack two monetary coupons. See “Why isn’t my coupon working?” below for the full troubleshooting list.

Every DMpro coupon is one of these six types, each with its own rules:

TypeEffectStackable
Percent offReduces subscription price by a percentage (e.g. 20% off Growth annual: $470 → $376/year)No, only one monetary coupon at a time
Amount offReduces price by a fixed dollar amount (e.g. $10 off any plan)No, only one monetary coupon at a time
Bonus creditsAdds one-time credits to your balance immediately; they never expireYes
Trial extensionExtends your active trial (e.g. +7 days); not usable once your trial has endedYes, with other trial extensions
Free monthsShifts your next billing date forward by the number of free monthsYes, adds to any existing free-month balance
Tier upgradeFree upgrade to a higher tier for a set period, then reverts (e.g. Starter → Growth for 1 month)No, only one tier upgrade active at a time

Non-monetary coupons combine freely. For example, redeeming a +500-credit coupon, a +100-credit coupon, and a 7-day trial extension all at once leaves you with 600 bonus credits and 7 extra trial days.

Every coupon also carries its own rules that appear at redemption time: a minimum plan requirement, an annual-only or monthly-only restriction, a new-users-only limit, or a persona restriction (creator, brand, or business accounts only). If you have an unredeemed coupon approaching its expiry, DMpro emails a reminder 3 days beforehand.

The Coupon Wallet, at Dashboard → Payments → Coupon Wallet, is where every coupon on your account lives, split into three sections:

  • Available. Coupons that are applicable, unexpired, and not yet fully consumed. You can redeem any of these at any time.
  • Redeemed. A historical log of coupons you’ve applied, each showing its name, type, redeemed date, and effect summary.
  • Expired. Coupons past their expiry that can no longer be redeemed. They stay visible for reference.

Redeeming from the wallet applies the effect immediately for non-monetary coupons, or on your next charge for monetary ones. You cannot delete wallet entries; they’re a permanent historical record.

Your personal referral code is also displayed in the wallet header, and DMpro emails you when a new coupon is auto-added to your wallet, when an unredeemed coupon is about to expire, or when a redeemed coupon’s effect (like a tier upgrade) is about to end. Manage these in Dashboard → Profile → Notification Preferences.

On Enterprise team accounts, admins can distribute coupons to team members from a shared wallet. Standard tiers don’t have this team wallet feature.

Every DMpro user gets a personal referral code, shown at Dashboard → Payments → Coupon Wallet → Your Referral Code (format like YOURNAME20). It’s safe to share publicly, whether by DM on Instagram/TikTok, email, a social post, or word of mouth.

When a friend redeems your code, they get $10 off their first month (or 20% off their first year, depending on the current promotion). When their subscription is confirmed (they’ve subscribed and passed the trial), you get 50 bonus credits added to your one-time balance, and the reward scales with the plan they choose:

  • Friend subscribes to Growth: 50 credits
  • Friend subscribes to Professional: 200 credits
  • Friend subscribes to Enterprise: 500 credits

Track redemptions and pending referrals at Dashboard → Payments → Referrals. Rules: one redemption per email address, you cannot self-refer with a second account, and DMpro’s fingerprint anti-abuse system watches for fake-account farming, similar-IP redemption clusters, disposable emails, and rapid signup-then-cancel patterns. Flagged referrals may not credit the referrer, and repeat abuse can suspend accounts.

Referral credits are treated as one-time credits (they never expire) and are used after your subscription credits. If you run a larger community or team, Professional+ subscribers can request custom codes from support, and creators with 10k+ followers can apply for the affiliate program at [email protected].

Work through these common causes:

  • Typo in the code. Check for confused characters like O/0 or I/1, and strip any trailing spaces. Copy-paste when you can.
  • Expired. Check the wallet for the exact expiry date, or the original promotion’s terms if the code isn’t in your account yet.
  • Already redeemed. Single-use coupons apply once per account; check Coupon Wallet → Redeemed.
  • Restrictions not met. A minimum plan, a specific billing interval, a new-users-only rule, a persona restriction, or a region restriction. The error at redemption tells you which one applies.
  • Can’t stack. Only one monetary coupon can be applied to your next charge at a time; non-monetary coupons stack freely.
  • Fingerprint block. If your account is flagged for multi-account abuse, most referral coupons won’t apply. Contact support if you believe this is wrong.
  • Free tier. Some coupons only apply to paid tiers, so redeeming on free may show no obvious effect. Subscribe first, then redeem.
  • Stripe vs. DMpro coupons. Stripe promo codes work in the “Add promotion code” field at checkout; DMpro’s internal coupons work in the Coupon Wallet. Some codes only work in one place, so try the other if the first doesn’t take.

If nothing above resolves it, email [email protected] with the coupon code, where you got it, what error you saw, and your DMpro account email. Support can often manually apply or troubleshoot it.

When you attempt to redeem a coupon, DMpro shows its effect, duration, restrictions, and expiry up front. Standard restrictions you may encounter, alone or combined, include one redemption per account, new-users-only or existing-users-only eligibility, a minimum plan requirement, a monthly-only or annual-only interval, and no stacking with other monetary coupons.

Some coupons are also targeted by persona (brand-only, creator-only, or business-only, based on your onboarding persona) or by geography (US only, EU only, or certain countries excluded for tax or compliance reasons, based on your Stripe billing address). Changing your persona in Profile doesn’t retroactively unlock a coupon you weren’t eligible for before.

Every coupon has an expiry. Launch coupons commonly expire 30 days after launch, holiday coupons at the end of the season, and personal referral codes 30 days after creation (though you can always generate a new one).

Refunds and chargebacks affect coupons. If you refund a purchase tied to a coupon, the discount is adjusted or the credits/extension/upgrade are reverted or removed if not yet consumed. Initiating a chargeback can revoke associated coupons and suspend your account pending resolution.

Terms prohibit selling coupon codes, using multiple accounts to redeem the same code, automating redemptions, or broadly sharing single-use codes; violations can lead to reversal and suspension. Enterprise customers may negotiate custom coupon terms in their contract. The full legal Terms of Service covering coupons live at dmpro.brandid.app/terms; this page is a plain-language summary.

A gift link is a shareable URL, like dmpro.brandid.app/gift/abc123def4 (a unique 10-character code), that grants a paid DMpro tier free for a bounded duration. Someone sends you the link, you click it, sign up, and you get full paid access for weeks or months without ever entering a card.

Gift links are admin-issued only: created by DMpro admins for partnerships, press comps, and community giveaways, by brand partners as part of a collaboration, or occasionally by support as a goodwill gesture. Regular users can’t create their own gift links from the dashboard.

Each gift specifies a tier (Starter, Growth, Professional, or Enterprise), a billing cycle (monthly or annual, which affects the feature bundle), and a bounded duration (for example, “Growth tier for 90 days” or “Enterprise for 1 year”). There’s no card required, no Stripe charge, and no auto-renewal; when the duration ends you auto-downgrade to the free tier with zero surprise charges.

Gift redemption is for new DMpro signups, or existing accounts that never subscribed. If you already have an active Stripe subscription, or your account is flagged by the fingerprint anti-abuse system, redemption is blocked.

A gift link admin can set a maximum number of redemptions (once hit, later visitors see “All gifts claimed”) or leave it uncapped until the link itself expires. Note that link expiry and gift expiry are two different things: link expiry only blocks new redemptions after that date, while each individual gift still runs to its own natural expiry. In short, coupons are codes for a discount or bonus typed at checkout, while gift links are URLs that grant a tier with no Stripe checkout at all.

Click the link you were sent. You’ll land on a public gift page showing the tier (“Growth”), the duration (“Free for 90 days”), the generations included, and the retail value, with a Claim Your Gift button.

What happens when you click Claim depends on your account state:

  • No account, not logged in: you’re sent to sign up with the gift code pre-attached.
  • Have an account, not logged in: you’re sent to log in first.
  • Logged in, never subscribed: the gift applies immediately.
  • Logged in with an active Stripe subscription: you’ll see “Gift links can’t be applied to accounts with active subscriptions.”

New users complete a short signup (email, a 6-digit verification code, then onboarding); the gift code carries through automatically and applies at the end of onboarding. In the Chrome extension, expand Have a gift code? on the email screen during sign-up, enter the 10-character code (it previews the tier and duration live, green for valid and red for invalid), and continue as normal.

Once applied, your account is instantly upgraded: your credit balance reflects the tier’s monthly amount, a congratulatory popup appears in the dashboard, and a confirmation email is sent. You can dismiss the popup; it won’t reappear. Your active gift is visible afterward as a green banner in Dashboard → Payments (“Gift active. Growth for 90 days. Expires [date]”) and reflected in your credit balance on both Overview and the extension.

A gift link can fail to redeem if it’s expired, has hit its redemption cap, was deleted by an admin, you already have an active subscription, or you’re fingerprint-blocked. Each case shows a specific error message.

Two separate expiries govern gift links:

  • Link expiry. An optional date the admin sets on the link itself. After it passes, no new redemptions are allowed and visitors see “This gift link has expired,” but redemptions that already happened are unaffected and run to their own natural end. Some links have no expiry and stay redeemable until the admin disables them.
  • Gift expiry. The date your own redeemed gift’s duration ends. For example, a “Growth for 90 days” gift redeemed January 1 expires April 1.

On the gift expiry date, your tier auto-downgrades to free, the gift’s subscription-style credits zero out, and there is no grace period; the drop happens immediately. Any one-time credits you had before the gift, and any coupons in your wallet, are preserved. You get a reminder email 3 days before expiry.

To avoid the downgrade, subscribe to Stripe any time during your gift (your gift stays active and the paid subscription simply starts once it ends) or buy one-time credits to keep sending afterward. Gifts don’t auto-renew; once expired, you’d need a new gift link from the original source.

Admins can extend a specific redemption by +N days, shorten it by -N days, or revoke it early for policy violations, in which case you’d drop to free immediately with an email notice. You can only have one active gift at a time; a second gift link is blocked until the first expires (or you surrender it, see below). Both link and gift expiry are computed in UTC, with your local timezone used only for display.

On the exact date and time your gift ends, your tier drops to free (10 generations/month), the gift’s subscription-style credits zero out, paid-tier features (like the AI-Powered Writer or Email-in-Bio) disable, your connected account limit drops to the free tier’s 2, and priority support ends in favor of standard support.

Nothing is deleted: your account, prompts, one-time credits, campaigns, coupon wallet, and Instagram/TikTok connections all stay exactly as they were. A campaign running at the moment of expiry keeps going but drains the new (much smaller) free-tier credit balance quickly, then transitions to out_of_credits once it hits zero.

You’ll get reminder emails 7 days out (“consider subscribing to continue”), 3 days out, and on the day itself (“you’re now on free tier”); manage these in Notification Preferences. To avoid the downgrade, subscribe to Stripe at any point during your gift (the paid subscription simply takes over with no interruption in features) or buy one-time credits to keep sending without the full feature set. If you’re happy on free, you don’t need to do anything: it works fine for casual use at 10 credits/month.

You can resubscribe at any time afterward from Dashboard → Pricing; the plan activates immediately through Stripe Checkout with no re-onboarding needed. A gift expiring and a subscription being cancelled both end the same way (free tier), the difference is that expiry is time-based and cancellation is something you initiate.

Gift links only redeem for new DMpro users, or accounts that have never subscribed. If you have an active Stripe subscription, redemption is blocked for you, so a gift link “meant for you” is really only usable if you aren’t currently paying.

If that’s your situation, you can pass the link along: copy the URL and send it to a friend who’s new to DMpro (or hasn’t subscribed) via DM, email, or however you like. They redeem it during their own sign-up, or by entering the 10-character code in the extension’s “Have a gift code?” field. Keep in mind some links have a maximum redemption cap, so check with whoever sent it to you if you’re not sure it still has room.

If you’re already logged in with an active subscription and click a gift link anyway, DMpro just shows a toast (“Gift links are for new signups. Save this link for a friend.”) without affecting your session.

There’s currently no “buy a gift for someone” flow for regular users; gift links are admin-issued only. If you want to get DMpro for a friend, you can pay for their subscription directly (sign up with their email and your card), share a coupon from your wallet if it’s transferable, or, for Enterprise deals, ask about a custom gift arrangement at [email protected]. Referral codes are a separate, always-shareable option: they’re personal to you and work like a discount coupon rather than a free-tier gift (see “How do referral coupons work?” above).

When sharing, keep it to one redemption per person; the fingerprint system blocks attempts to reuse the same link across different emails from the same person, and links shouldn’t be sold or spammed. Some links are meant for private, one-to-one sharing rather than public broadcast, so check with the source before posting one publicly.

Yes. If you’d rather not run your gift to its natural expiry, for example to swap it for a better one, to subscribe fresh with a coupon that isn’t compatible with an active gift, or for any personal reason, you can voluntarily surrender it:

  1. Go to Dashboard → Payments.
  2. In the Gift banner, click Surrender Gift Early.
  3. Confirm.

Surrendering revokes the gift immediately: you drop to the free tier (10 credits/month), any running campaigns transition to out_of_credits, and a confirmation email is sent. Your one-time credits, prompts, and other settings are unaffected. This action cannot be undone; once surrendered, the only ways back to a paid tier are subscribing to Stripe, redeeming another gift if one is available, or buying one-time credits.

Planning to subscribe right after? Either order works: surrender first for the cleanest state, or subscribe first and let the old gift expire naturally alongside the new subscription. If you’re about to redeem a different gift link, surrender the current one first, since you can’t hold two gifts at once.

Because gifts never cost you anything, there’s nothing to refund on surrender; it’s a one-way action with no financial impact. For Enterprise gifts tied to a partnership or legal terms, check with your admin contact or support before surrendering, since some arrangements aren’t as simple to unwind.
