Custom Prompts & Templates

A custom prompt is your saved instructions to the AI. It tells the AI:

• Who you are (brand, agency, creator)
• What you’re offering (partnership, product, service)
• Who you’re targeting (niche, follower range)
• What tone and length to use

You save prompts as templates so you don’t rewrite them for every campaign. See AI message generation for how prompts feed the AI.

1. Open the DMpro side panel
2. Go to Prompts (or Templates, depending on the version)
3. Click New template
4. Give it a name (e.g. “Fashion partnerships, casual”)
5. Write the prompt in the editor
6. Save

Now it appears in the campaign selector at the top of the side panel.

Some templates support variables that get filled in per-profile:

• {{handle}}: the target’s Instagram or TikTok handle
• {{display_name}}: their public display name
• {{bio}}: the extracted bio text
• {{follower_count}}: their follower count
• {{niche}}: the niche tag from your CSV (if provided)

Example prompt fragment: “Write to {{display_name}} whose bio says {{bio}} and mention something specific from it.” The AI resolves these before generating.

At the top of the side panel, there’s a campaign selector dropdown that shows all your saved prompt templates. Click and pick, all future AI generations use that template.

You can switch templates mid-session; already-drafted messages stay put, but the next regeneration will use the new prompt.

Battle-tested patterns:

• Start with identity: “You are writing on behalf of [brand], a [category] product for [audience].”
• State the specific goal: “Ask if they’d be interested in a paid collaboration featuring our [product].”
• Set length hard: “Keep the message under 3 sentences.”
• Set tone hard: “Casual, friendly, human, avoid marketing language.”
• Reference the profile: “Include one specific reference to their bio or niche.”
• End with a soft ask: “Close with a low-friction question they can answer yes/no.”
• Give an example of a strong output. This aligns the AI more than any instruction alone.

In the Prompts / Templates section, hover a template and click the copy icon. A copy appears with “(copy)” appended to the name. Rename it, tweak the text, and save.

Great for A/B testing: two versions of the same prompt, run each on a small sample, see which produces better response rates.
