Plans & Billing
Everything about brandID’s own paid plans: what each tier unlocks, how to upgrade or switch, and where to find what you’ve paid.
brandID uses the word “subscription” for two completely separate things, so it is worth being clear about which one you are dealing with:
- A brandID plan (this page). This is what you, the creator, pay brandID for, monthly, yearly, or on another billing period, to unlock premium features on your own dashboard and page, things like a custom domain, removing brandID branding, and a wider analytics date range. You manage this at
brandid.app/pricingand from Account → Billing. - A “Subscription” content block. This is something you add to your own public page to charge your own fans or visitors for access to your paid content. It is a completely different feature, covered in the Selling & Commerce Blocks article, not this one.
Tip: if you are trying to figure out why a “Subscription” section looks different from what this article describes, you may actually be looking for the content block, not your brandID plan. Check the Selling & Commerce Blocks article for that.
Go to brandid.app/pricing to see every plan currently available, with its price, features, and billing period. Plans are configured by brandID, so exact names, prices, and feature lists can change, but the page always shows you the live, current lineup, including a free tier.
Each plan can offer more than one billing period to choose from, for example weekly, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, yearly, lifetime, or a one-time payment. If a plan has more than one period available, you will see a row of tabs on its card so you can pick the one you want before starting checkout.
If a plan is free, its card simply shows “Free” instead of a price and period.
Paid plans gate premium features of the bio-link product itself, on top of what the free tier includes. Depending on the plan, this can include things like:
- Connecting a custom domain to your page.
- Removing brandID branding from your public page.
- A wider date range in your analytics.
- Additional monetization features, grouped on higher tiers under sections like “Links” or “Advanced Monetization.”
Each plan card on the pricing page lists its own feature checklist. On plans with a lot of features, related lines are grouped under a heading you can expand or collapse, with an info icon next to the heading if you want more detail. The top tier’s checklist may show a short banner above it noting that it includes everything from the tier below, plus its own extras.
Some plans can cover more than one of your bio-link pages under a single purchase. If a plan supports this, its card shows a “Web Pages” stepper where you can choose how many pages you want this plan to cover, up to that plan’s limit, before you check out.
Each page covered by the plan fills one “seat.” Moving a page in or out of a seat, for example swapping which of your pages uses a paid slot, is free and does not change what you are billed. That is managed from your Account area, not from the pricing page itself.
Tip: if a plan’s Web Pages limit is 1, or the plan is free, you will not see this stepper, since there is only ever one page to assign.
There are two ways to move to a new plan:
- Starting fresh from the pricing page. Go to
brandid.app/pricingand click “Start Now” on the plan you want. - Changing your current plan. From Account, use the “Change plan” link on your Plan card. This opens the pricing page in “Change Your Plan” mode, with the heading changed to reflect that, and you click “Start Now” on the plan you want to switch to.
If the plan you are changing covers more than one of your pages, you will see a notice that changing it here changes the plan for all of the pages in that group, not just one.
What happens depends on how your old and new plans are billed:
- If both your old and new plan are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis, the switch happens in place: your billing is prorated automatically and you are taken straight back to your Account page, no new checkout needed.
- For any other combination, for example a different payment method, or a one-time or lifetime plan involved, you will go through a fresh checkout for the new plan. That new checkout automatically pre-selects the same pages your old plan covered, so none of your pages get dropped by accident.
Either way, your old plan is not cancelled the moment you start switching. It keeps running until the new plan is actually paid for, so if you back out of the checkout partway through, it costs you nothing and your old plan simply continues.
brandID supports card payments through Stripe, card payments through Authorize.Net, and PayPal. Which of these you can actually choose depends on the plan, only the payment methods enabled for that specific plan appear as options at checkout.
- Stripe or PayPal: you are taken to that provider’s own secure hosted checkout page to complete payment, then brought back to brandID once it is done.
- Authorize.Net: you enter your card details directly in the checkout panel. Your details are securely tokenized before anything is charged, and the card fields are cleared right away once that happens.
Yes. In the checkout panel, there is a coupon code box, enter your code and click “Apply.” If it is valid, you will see a confirmation showing the percentage discount applied, and your total updates accordingly.
If a code does not work, the checkout panel will tell you why: it may have expired, your order total may be below the minimum needed for that code, or the code itself may simply be invalid.
Some plans include a trial period. When a plan has one, its card shows a notice letting you know you will pay a reduced amount right now, and the trial applies from there. This notice only shows on plans that actually have a trial configured, and it will not show on a plan you are already on or on a fully free plan.
Head to Account → Billing (brandid.app/account/billing). This is where you can see the plan you are currently on and review your complete payment history.
Right after a successful purchase, the confirmation screen also gives you a quick link (“View my plan”) straight to this same page, along with a reminder that your new features are already live and that you can manage or change your plan any time from Account → Billing.
Two situations can come up while choosing which pages a plan should cover:
- The page is already on another plan. If you are buying for a single page and it is already covered by a different plan, you may be offered a quick “Switch to (plan name)” option instead of a whole new purchase. If you are buying for multiple pages, you will instead see a warning listing which of your selected pages are on another plan already, this does not block your payment: the seat those pages hold on the old plan is simply freed up, and you will not be charged twice for the same page.
- You don’t have enough pages. If the plan requires more pages than you currently own, the checkout panel will tell you exactly how many more pages you need to create before you can continue, and payment stays disabled until you either create more pages or select fewer.
It depends on where things stopped:
- You backed out of Stripe’s or PayPal’s hosted payment page. You will land on a “Checkout cancelled” screen confirming no charge was made, with a button to go back to the plans page and try again.
- You completed payment through Stripe or Authorize.Net. Your new features are typically already active by the time you see the confirmation screen, which briefly shows a “confirming” state while it finishes loading your receipt details.
- You completed payment through PayPal. The return page has to actively finish confirming your purchase, so you will see a short “confirming” state first, followed by success or an error message.
- Your card was declined or failed to tokenize (Authorize.Net). The card number and CVC fields are cleared for security, and an error message explains what happened, or shows a generic reminder to double check your card details if no specific reason is available.
If a purchase seems stuck for longer than a minute or two after a successful payment, refresh the confirmation page or check Account → Billing, and reach out to support if it still has not appeared.
