Payments & Payouts

Payments & Payouts

Track everything you’ve earned and paid through your brandID page, connect Stripe or PayPal to accept payments, and withdraw your balance to your own PayPal account.

Go to brandid.app/payments and you’ll find “Your money”, a single place that tracks every dollar tied to your brandID page. At the top, six summary cards give you a quick snapshot: Total Received, Total Paid, Affiliate Earnings, Pending Earnings, Total Paid Out, and Upcoming Payout.

Below the summary cards, four tabs break everything down in detail:

  • Payments Received, money coming in from your products, tips, subscriptions, and media sales
  • Payments Made, money going out (your brandID plan, video translation, and billboard charges)
  • Affiliate Earnings, commissions from products you promote
  • Payouts, your withdrawal tools and withdrawal history
  • Total Received: everything buyers and fans have paid you through your page.
  • Total Paid: what you’ve paid out to brandID, the AI Video Translator, and billboards.
  • Affiliate Earnings: commission income from products you’ve promoted through the affiliate program.
  • Upcoming Payout: everything currently eligible to be paid out (your received earnings plus affiliate earnings).
  • Pending Earnings and Total Paid Out: shown for reference but currently always display as $0.

Note: Pending Earnings and Total Paid Out aren’t tracking anything yet, so treat them as placeholders for now. For your real, up to date balance and withdrawal history, use the Payouts tab instead.

Before you can sell anything with a commerce block (products, tips, paid subscriptions, or billboard slots), you need to connect a payment gateway so buyers on your page have somewhere to actually pay you. This connection is started from Settings at brandid.app/settings, in the Payments section, where you can start onboarding with either Stripe or PayPal.

Once you start the process, you’re taken off brandID and into Stripe’s or PayPal’s own onboarding flow to verify your identity and business details. When you finish (or leave partway through), you’re redirected back to brandID automatically.

Tip: Connecting a gateway is a one time setup per account. See Selling & Commerce Blocks for how to actually add products, tips, and subscription blocks to your page once you’re connected.

You’ll land on a short onboarding return page that automatically checks your account status while showing “Checking your Stripe (or PayPal) account…”. From there it settles into one of a few states:

  • Success: “🎉 Success! Thank you for completing the Stripe (or PayPal) Connect onboarding process. Your account has been successfully connected.”
  • Incomplete: “Complete Your Onboarding. It looks like your onboarding process is not complete. To enable payments, you need to finish the setup.” A Continue setup button sends you back into the gateway’s onboarding to finish.
  • Session expired (Stripe): “⚠️ Session Expired. Your session has expired. Please refresh your token to continue.” with a Refresh button.
  • Onboarding canceled (PayPal): “⚠️ Onboarding Canceled. It looks like you canceled the PayPal onboarding process.” with a try again link.

Every state (other than the initial checking screen) has a Go to Dashboard button that takes you back to your Settings Payments section.

These are two separate things, and it’s easy to mix them up:

  • Connecting Stripe or PayPal (from Settings) is what lets your page actually charge buyers for products, tips, subscriptions, and billboards in the first place.
  • Your payout method (set on the Payments page’s Payouts tab) is where your withdrawn balance gets sent once it’s in your brandID account.

Right now, your payout method only supports PayPal, no matter which gateway (Stripe or PayPal) you connected to accept payments from buyers.

Open the Payouts tab on the Payments page and look at the Withdraw card. If you haven’t saved a payout method yet, you’ll see an email field right there, enter your PayPal email address and click Save PayPal (it shows “Saving…” while it processes).

Once saved, that section collapses into a summary showing “PayPal” and your email, with a Change button. Clicking Change pre-fills the form with your current email so you can edit it, and a Cancel button lets you back out without saving.

If you enter an invalid email, you’ll see “Enter a valid PayPal email address.” Only PayPal is supported for payouts right now.

On the Payouts tab’s Withdraw card, you’ll see your Available to withdraw balance. Enter an amount (or click Max to fill in your full available balance) and click Request withdrawal. The button shows “Requesting…” while it processes, and on success you’ll see the green message “Withdrawal requested.” right on the page. Your balance and payouts figures refresh automatically, and the new request appears at the top of your Withdrawals list with a pending status.

The minimum withdrawal amount is $10. Requests are reviewed and paid out to your saved PayPal account.

The withdrawal form is disabled if either of these is true:

  • You haven’t saved a PayPal payout method yet, you’ll see “Add a PayPal payout method to withdraw.” below the form.
  • Your available balance is below the $10 minimum.

If your withdrawal request fails after submitting, you’ll see an inline error such as “Add a PayPal payout method before withdrawing.”, “Minimum withdrawal is $10.”, “Amount exceeds your available balance.”, or a generic “Could not request withdrawal.” message.

Payments Received lists every inbound payment: date, customer (name and email), source, gateway, amount, and status. The source can be Product, Tip, Subscription, or Media.

Heads up: “Subscription” here means a visitor paying for a Subscription content block on your own page, not brandID’s own paid plans. Those are completely different things. Your brandID plan charges show up on the Payments Made tab instead.

Payments Made lists money going out of your account: your brandID plan billing, AI Video Translator charges, and billboard ad spend, each with date, recipient, gateway, amount, and status.

Affiliate Earnings lists commission income from products you promote through the affiliate program: date, merchant, product or order, sale amount, and your commission (sometimes shown with a percentage rate).

Yes. The Payments Received tab has the most filters: a date range (From date / To date), a source filter (All sources, Product, Tip, Subscription, Media), a status filter (All statuses, completed, pending, failed, active), a gateway filter (All gateways, stripe, paypal, wallet), and a sort option (Newest, Oldest, Highest amount, Lowest amount). There’s also a search box for customer name, email, or id, you type your search and press Enter (it doesn’t search as you type).

The Payments Made tab only offers a gateway filter and a search box for the recipient. The Affiliate Earnings tab only offers a search box for merchant or product.

Long result lists are paginated with Prev and Next buttons, shown as “Page X of Y” whenever there’s more than one page.

The Withdrawals card on the Payouts tab lists every withdrawal you’ve requested, each with its amount, the date it was requested, the payout method used, and a status pill. When you first request a withdrawal it shows as pending. Once it’s reviewed and processed, it moves to a completed or rejected status, rejected withdrawals aren’t counted toward your paid-out totals.

If you haven’t requested any withdrawals yet, you’ll see “No withdrawals yet, Request a withdrawal above and it’ll appear here with its amount, method and status.”

If you haven’t received any payments yet, the Payments Received tab shows “No payments yet, Payments from your products, tips and subscriptions will show up here.” Payments Made shows “No payments made, Your brandID plan, video-translation and billboard charges will show up here.” Affiliate Earnings shows “No affiliate earnings yet, Commissions from products you promote will show up here.” And on the Payouts tab, an empty Earnings breakdown shows “No earnings to pay out yet.”

If a table fails to load, you’ll see a “Data unavailable” message. This just means the page couldn’t refresh that data at the moment, your page itself keeps working normally either way. Try refreshing the page, and if it keeps happening, see Troubleshooting or contact support.
