Selling & Commerce Blocks
Turn your brandID page into a storefront: sell affiliate products, digital downloads, paid access to your own content, tips, and billboard ad space, all from the editor.
brandID gives you several “commerce blocks” you can add to your page from the Discover catalog inside the editor (brandid.app/admin). Each one opens its own guided setup wizard the first time you add it:
- Affiliate Products (Product Gallery), a storefront of products you earn a commission on when someone buys through your link.
- Digital Products: files, services, sessions, custom videos, and other non-physical items you deliver yourself.
- Sell Downloadables: a PDF-focused version of the digital product flow, with a buyer preview built in.
- Subscription: lets fans pay to unlock content on your own page (see below, this is not the same as a brandID plan).
- Tipping (Tip Jar), a one-time “support me” button, image, video, or QR code.
- Rent Out Billboards: ad space on your page that brands pay you to occupy.
There’s no separate “Sell Audios” or “Sell Videos” wizard: you sell an audio file, a song, or a video the same way you sell any other digital item, through the Digital Products block (see below).
Add the Affiliate Products tile from the Discover catalog in the editor. This block is a singleton, so you can only have one per page. Setup walks you through:
- Discover and Add Affiliate Products: pick a source: search the Products catalog, browse Brands, paste a Link to a product, or use AI Assist (coming soon).
- Select & Add Photos: set a hero image and gallery photos, confirm the product name and link.
- Decide Where Your Product Appears: place the product on a Top Menu tab, into a Collection, or tag it to a shoppable social post (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube), then publish.
There’s no payout account to connect first, since affiliate commissions are tracked by the affiliate network rather than a payment gateway you own.
If you pick “Affiliate Products” again after you already have the block, brandID won’t create a second one. You’ll land back in your existing block instead, where you can add more products organized into different collections or social posts.
Add a Digital Products block (it launches the setup wizard automatically the first time; after that, use the “Add New” tile to add more products). The wizard has five steps:
- Product Detail: gallery images and a hero image, title, price and currency, an optional discounted price, a description, and how you’ll deliver it: manually after purchase or automatically sent to the buyer. If it’s automatic, upload the product file (any file type, up to 26MB). You can also add custom questions for the buyer, like requesting notes or files from them, and set your button text (defaults to “Buy Now”).
- Email Receipt: write the email buyers get after purchase, with a subject, note, body, and a schedule for when it sends.
- Success Screen: the thank-you message shown right after checkout.
- Payment Method: choose your own connected Stripe/PayPal, or brandID’s own gateway.
- Email Notification: the address where you get notified whenever someone buys. The final button here reads Publish.
Each step saves as you go, so closing the wizard partway through keeps whatever you already filled in.
They use the same wizard flow, but with two key differences:
- Digital Products accepts any file type up to 26MB, and lets you choose manual or automatic delivery.
- Sell Downloadables is PDF-only, allows files up to 200MB, and asks you to set how many pages buyers can preview before they purchase. brandID generates that preview for you (this can take a minute).
Use Sell Downloadables for things like ebooks, guides, or workbooks where showing a sample matters. Use Digital Products for everything else, including audio files, songs, and videos.
Yes. brandID doesn’t have a dedicated “Sell Audio” or “Sell Video” wizard: you sell these through the Digital Products block, the same way you’d sell any other file-based item, sessions, or a custom video. Upload your audio or video file in the product setup, choose whether it’s delivered automatically to the buyer or sent by you afterward, set your price, and publish.
Important: the word “Subscription” means two completely different things on brandID. Don’t mix them up.
- The Subscription content block is something you add to your own public page to sell paid access to your own content to your fans and visitors. It’s a commerce block, just like Tipping or Digital Products.
- brandID’s own SaaS subscription plans, at brandid.app/pricing, are what you pay brandID monthly or yearly to unlock premium platform features, like a custom domain, removing brandID branding, or a wider analytics date range.
If a fan pays through your Subscription block, that money is your content-sale revenue. If you’re paying for a plan at /pricing, that’s your platform subscription to brandID. See the Plans & Billing article for details on brandID’s own plans.
Add a Tip from the Tipping block’s “Add New” tile. The setup wizard has four steps:
- How Should Fans Tip You?: choose the visual format: Video, Image, Button, or QR code (QR code is handy for in-person situations like performers, servers, or event staff).
- Setup Your Ask: give your campaign a title and description, choose where the title appears, set your CTA button text, and add the dollar amounts fans can choose from.
- Confirmation Email: the email your supporters get after tipping, with its own schedule.
- Payment Gateway: your own Stripe/PayPal, or brandID’s own gateway. The final button here reads Save Publish.
There’s no payout account required up front. If you try to turn a tip’s publish switch on directly without finishing setup, brandID blocks it until you’ve added a title, a description, and at least one payment amount.
“Rent Out Billboards” lets brands pay to advertise directly on your page. It’s a singleton block, one per page, and its four-step wizard is where you set the terms:
- Pricing: set separate prices (and a currency) for video ads and image ads. You need at least one price above zero to continue.
- Positions: turn on extra, discounted billboard slots: Top of Page (always full price), Middle of Page, and Bottom of Page, each with its own editable discount percentage.
- Email Templates: schedule follow-up emails for billboard buyers after they book.
- Preview: write the placeholder text shown inside the empty billboard slot on your page (up to 120 characters), so brands know what they’re looking at.
Saving on the last step publishes the billboard immediately. There’s no payment gateway to connect for Billboards: you set your own price, and brandID handles the billing.
Since Billboards are a singleton, picking “Rent Out Billboards” again once you already have one just takes you back to your existing billboard rather than creating a second one.
No, it’s optional. For Digital Products, Sell Downloadables, and Tipping, the Payment Method step lets you choose between:
- Your own payment gateway: connect Stripe, PayPal, or both, from Settings.
- brandID’s own gateway: no external account needed, brandID processes the payment for you.
Either way, a platform fee percentage applies and is shown in a fee card on that step, based on your plan tier. Affiliate Products don’t need a gateway at all (commissions are tracked by the network), and Billboards are billed entirely through brandID with no gateway step.
Most commerce blocks let you queue follow-up emails that go out a set delay after someone buys or tips, for example a few minutes, hours, or days later. For each one you can set a template name, subject, note, a rich-text body, and insert variables like the buyer’s name or your store URL. You can build these from scratch, pick from a curated template library, or reuse your own saved templates from Settings.
Tip: each block lets you queue up to 5 scheduled emails. Once you hit that limit, you’ll need to edit or remove an existing one before adding another.
Each wizard checks that its required fields are filled in before letting you move on. Common messages you might see include:
- “Product title required.”, “Please enter product price.”, “Please upload product image.”, “Please enter product description.” (Digital Products / Sell Downloadables)
- “Please enter title”, “Please enter description”, “Please set payment amounts” (Tipping)
- “Please select payment gateway.”, “Please select stripe or paypal gateway.” (any block with a payment step)
- “Product image required.”, “Product title required.”, “Product URL required.” (Affiliate Products)
If a save fails for another reason, you’ll usually see an inline message like “Could not save: [server message]” or a generic “Something went wrong. Please try again.” Fix the flagged field and try again.
A locked “Add New” tile (shown dimmed with a lock icon) means you’ve hit a limit tied to your current brandID plan, for example the number of tips or products your plan allows. Tapping it takes you to an upgrade prompt instead of opening the wizard. This is about your own brandID subscription plan, not the “Subscription” content block on your page. See Plans & Billing to check or change your plan.
Once you’ve published a commerce block, visitors see it live on your public page and can buy, tip, book a billboard, or subscribe right there. The checkout experience itself, what a buyer sees and how they pay, is covered in detail in a separate article since it happens on the visitor’s side rather than in your editor.
See Visitor Checkout & Payments for the full walkthrough, and Payments & Payouts for how the money reaches you.
There are limits by upload type:
- Digital Product files: any file type, up to 26MB.
- Sell Downloadables files: PDF only, up to 200MB.
- Images and videos used across the wizards also have their own caps, and you’ll see an inline error like “You can not upload the image larger than 25MB.” or “You can not upload the video larger than 100MB.” if you go over.
If an upload fails outright, you’ll see a message like “Failed to upload image. Please try again.” or “Please use valid file format.” Try a smaller file or a supported format and upload again.
