AI Video Translator

AI Video Translator

How to upload a video, translate it into other languages, pay per video or subscribe for included minutes, and manage that billing (which runs separately from your main brandID plan).

The AI Video Translator is a tool inside your brandID dashboard that dubs your videos into other languages using your own voice and style. You upload one video, choose the language or languages you want it translated into, pay for the job, and brandID hands you back a separate translated video file for each language you picked.

You’ll find it at brandid.app/video-translator from your dashboard. It’s a separate feature from your public brandID page, and it runs its own billing system rather than sharing your main brandID plan.

From brandid.app/video-translator, click “Translate a Video” to open a 3-step wizard:

  1. Upload Video. Give your video a name (required), then drop in or browse for an MP4 file. Once it’s uploaded you’ll see a preview player and can replace it if needed. “Next” stays disabled until you’ve added a title and a video.
  2. Languages. Search for a language by name or browse by region (Asia, North America, South America, Europe, Africa). Pick one or more, each one appears as a removable chip below the list. “Continue to payment” stays disabled until you’ve picked at least one language.
  3. Payment. Choose whether to pay for just this video or use a video-translator subscription, then complete checkout (see the next questions for details).

Tip: the wizard doesn’t close if you click outside it, you have to use the X or “Cancel”. As soon as you hit “Next” on step 1, your video is quietly saved as a draft, so closing the wizard part way through never loses your upload. You can reopen it later from “Your Videos” and pick up where you left off.

Step 2 of the wizard lists languages grouped into five regions: Asia, North America, South America, Europe, and Africa (English/Global is grouped under North America, and Oceania is grouped under Asia). You can either use the search box to jump straight to a language, or browse a region’s panel and check the ones you want. You can select as many languages as you like for a single video, each one is translated and billed separately.

On the final step of the wizard you choose between two payment types:

  • One-time payment. Pay for just this video, no subscription involved. The price is based on your video’s length and how many languages you selected.
  • Subscription (marked “Recommended”). A monthly plan with included dubbing minutes, usually a lower cost per minute than paying one-time, and cancel anytime.

Pricing for both options is based on “workload minutes”: roughly your video’s length in minutes, multiplied by the number of languages you chose. A 3-minute video translated into 2 languages counts as about 6 minutes of work.

You’ll see a price breakdown based on your video’s length times the number of languages you picked, along with a rate per minute. You can pay with:

  • Card, via Stripe.
  • PayPal, which opens checkout in a new browser tab.
  • Your brandID wallet, if you have enough balance.

You’re charged once, translation begins as soon as payment is confirmed, and there’s no recurring charge or subscription created from a one-time payment.

Yes. Your wallet is a shared balance used across brandID (not specific to video translation), and it’s offered as one of the one-time payment options. The button reads “Pay with wallet” when you have enough, or “Recharge wallet” if your balance is too low for that job.

If your balance is insufficient, you’ll see your current balance and the amount needed, with the option to recharge using a card or PayPal right there before paying.

Yes, on the one-time payment screen there’s a coupon field (your code is automatically capitalized). Click “Apply” and if it’s valid you’ll see the discount applied to your total and how much you saved. If the code doesn’t apply to that purchase, you’ll get a message telling you so and your total won’t change.

No, it’s a completely separate subscription. The AI Video Translator has its own monthly (or annual) plans with a set amount of included dubbing minutes each period, billed through its own Stripe or PayPal checkout. This is different from:

  • brandID’s own /pricing SaaS plans, which unlock platform features like a custom domain or removing brandID branding, and
  • a “Subscription” content block, which is something you’d add to your own public page to sell paid access to your content to your fans.

If you don’t have an active video-translator subscription yet, the payment step shows a plan carousel with a monthly/annual toggle. Choose a plan and subscribe via card (Stripe) or PayPal.

If you already have an active subscription with enough included minutes left for this job, you’ll see a single button, “Use subscription: Start translation”, which uses your included minutes at no extra charge.

If your remaining minutes aren’t enough to cover this particular job, you’ll see a warning telling you so. In that case you’ll need to pay for that video with card, PayPal, or wallet on the one-time payment option instead, there’s currently no option to upgrade your plan directly from that screen.

On the main video-translator page, scroll down to the “Your subscription” panel (it only appears once you’ve had at least one subscription). Each row shows the plan name, its status (Active, Trial, Past due, Canceled, or Incomplete), which payment method it’s on (Stripe or PayPal), and either how many minutes you have left this period plus your renewal date, or your cancellation date.

From an active subscription’s row you can:

  • Manage billing, available for Stripe subscriptions only, which opens your billing portal.
  • Resume, if you’d previously scheduled a Stripe subscription to cancel and want to keep it going.
  • Cancel, which swaps in an inline confirmation (“Yes, cancel” for Stripe, “Yes, cancel now” for PayPal, or “Keep it” to back out).

Cancelled subscriptions stay listed in this panel afterward so you have a record of your billing history.

After paying through Stripe or PayPal, you’re brought to a confirmation page that checks your payment status and shows a message such as:

  • One-time payment: “Payment received, your translation is starting” (or a note that it’s still processing if not confirmed yet).
  • Subscription: “Subscription active, you’re all set.”
  • Billing portal return: confirmation that your billing changes were saved, including your current plan.

Every confirmation page has a “Back to my videos” link. You don’t even need to click it or refresh manually, your open Video Translator tab automatically updates your video list and subscription status as soon as a payment completes.

If you back out of a one-time payment checkout, you’ll land on a page confirming “Checkout cancelled, you haven’t been charged.” Backing out of a subscription checkout shows “Subscription checkout cancelled, you haven’t been charged.” Either way, nothing is billed.

If something goes wrong during upload, payment, or translation, you’ll see a plain-language error message inline on the page rather than a pop-up notification. A few examples:

  • “Your wallet balance is too low. Please recharge or choose another method.”
  • “That coupon is not valid.”
  • “The translation service is unavailable right now. Please try again shortly.”
  • “That payment method is unavailable right now. Please try another.”

If none of those match, you’ll see a generic “Something went wrong. Please try again.”

Once a video has finished processing, click “See Videos” on its card to open the Translated Videos view. Use the language chips to switch between the videos you ordered, each one shows either a playable finished video, a “Translating” spinner if it’s still in progress, or “Failed” with the reason if that language didn’t complete. Use the Download button to save a finished file, it’s disabled (with a tooltip explaining why) while that language is still processing.

Translation can take up to 36 hours in some cases, so don’t worry if a video isn’t ready right away, check back on the card or the Translated Videos view.

Each video card has a ⋮ menu with:

  • Edit, available until the video is completed.
  • Delete, which asks you to confirm: “Delete this video? This translation job and its files will be removed. This cannot be undone.”
  • Download Original Video, your original upload before translation.

These options are disabled while a video is actively processing, wait for it to finish before editing or deleting it.

Each video card shows one of these statuses as it moves through the process:

  • Draft: you’ve uploaded the video but haven’t finished the wizard yet, shown with a “Pending Submission” button.
  • Awaiting payment: languages are picked but payment isn’t done, shown with a “Pending Payment” button. Clicking it reopens the wizard right at the payment step.
  • Verifying Payment: your payment is being confirmed.
  • Preparing: your video is being loaded and resized before translation starts.
  • Translating: the dubbing is actively in progress, per language.
  • Completed: all languages are done, use “See Videos” to view and download them.
