Your Public Page & Visitors
What a visitor actually sees at brandid.app/yourname, including the sensitive content, blocked, and unpublished screens they may hit instead of your page.
No account is needed to view a public brandID page, anyone with the link can open it. From top to bottom, a visitor sees:
- A sticky top bar (with a share button)
- Your logo, if you’ve placed one in the top slot
- Your header: avatar, @handle, title, and bio
- A “Join” button if you have a paid Subscription block set up
- Your social icon row, if positioned at the top
- A tab strip, only if you have more than one published tab
- Your list of links and content blocks, in the order you arranged them (billboards and your QR code sit in their own fixed top/middle/bottom slots regardless of where the rest of your links are)
- Your social icon row again, if positioned at the bottom
- A second “Join” button, and your logo again, if placed in the bottom slot
Everything a visitor sees is driven entirely by what you’ve configured in the editor and Design tab. This article covers the visitor’s experience only; for how to build and style the page itself, see The Editor and Content Blocks.
Your page lives at brandid.app/yourname. If you’ve set up extra tabs in your top menu, each one gets its own URL in the same shape: brandid.app/yourname/tabname. That same URL pattern is also used for individual blog posts you’ve published, so a link like brandid.app/yourname/my-post-title could open either a tab or a blog post, depending on which one matches.
Individual items, like a tip jar, a product, a billboard ad, or a shared post, also get their own direct link (for example brandid.app/yourname/product/123). When a visitor taps one of these from inside your page, it opens as an overlay on top of your profile. If someone opens that same link directly (from a text message or a share, for example), it loads as its own full page instead of an overlay, but shows the same content either way.
A custom domain is one of the premium features brandID unlocks when you upgrade to a paid platform plan, alongside things like removing brandID branding from your page and getting a wider analytics date range. It’s a completely different thing from a paid “Subscription” content block, which is something you add to your own page to charge your fans, not something you buy from brandID.
For details on upgrading your plan and connecting a domain, see Plans & Billing and Account & Page Settings.
Instead of your normal page, a visitor can land on one of three full-screen interstitials:
- Sensitive content warning, a dark full-screen notice titled “Sensitive content” that reads: “This profile (@yourname) may contain content that isn’t suitable for all audiences. Continue only if you’re comfortable viewing it.” with a “Continue” button.
- Page unavailable (blocked), titled “Page unavailable” with the message “This page is no longer available.”
- Under maintenance (unpublished), titled “Under maintenance” with the message “This page is temporarily unpublished. Check back soon.”
These are the only three gated states a public page can show. There is no password-protected page option on brandID.
Tapping “Continue” sets a consent cookie in the visitor’s browser that lasts 24 hours, then reloads the page. Once that cookie is set, your page loads normally for the rest of that 24-hour window on that device. After it expires, the visitor will see the warning again the next time they open your page.
This is the blocked state. It replaces your entire page with the “Page unavailable” message for every visitor. If you’re seeing this on a page you own and didn’t expect it, reach out to support.
This “Under maintenance” screen is what visitors see whenever a page has been unpublished. While it’s showing, no visitor can view any of your links, blocks, or checkout pages, they’ll only see the “Check back soon” message. Manage whether your page is published from your dashboard, covered in Dashboard & Managing Pages.
The content is the same, but several pop-ups adapt to the visitor’s screen:
- Forms like the giveaway entry, phone collector, and “Email Me” pop-ups open as a bottom sheet on mobile and as a centered dialog on desktop.
- The product and shared-post pop-ups show a side-by-side layout on desktop (media or products on one side, details on the other) and stack vertically on mobile.
- The small “Create Your Own BrandID” footer link inside the shared-post pop-up is hidden on the smallest screens to save space.
Tapping the Share button (in your sticky top bar, or on a post or product) opens a share pop-up with two views: a list of quick options (copy link, per-platform share buttons, and a “Scan QR code” option), and a QR view with a scannable code and a read-only link they can copy. If you’ve added a QR Code block to your page, visitors can also save that code as an image directly.
Blocks locked behind your paid Subscription show a red “Exclusive” badge with a crown icon. Most locked blocks show a preview that isn’t interactive, tapping anywhere on it takes the visitor to your membership options page in a new tab. A few block types (Media Kit, Download, Video, Audio, and Blog) instead show their own “Exclusive” badge over a preview visitors can still interact with, plus a “See membership options” button, so the preview stays usable while the full content stays locked.
If a visitor is already signed in and already subscribed or has already purchased that item, the lock is checked automatically and the full content is shown instead of the preview.
Note: this is about the “Subscription” content block a creator adds to their own page, not brandID’s own paid plans. See Selling & Commerce Blocks for how to set these up, and Visitor Checkout & Payments for how a visitor completes the purchase or subscription.
Yes, if you have subscriber collection turned on. A visitor taps a bell icon (in your top bar or social row) to open a form asking for their details, then confirms their email with a 6-digit code you send them. They can also unsubscribe from the same pop-up later. This “Subscribe” widget for collecting fan contact details is unrelated to the paid “Subscription” content block, it’s a free way to build a list of followers, not a way to charge them.
If the tab name, blog post, shared post, or product a link points to can’t be found, the visitor gets a standard “not found” page instead of your profile. Note that the sensitive content, blocked, and unpublished screens always take priority over everything else, if your page is gated, a visitor will never see a post or product pop-up, even from a direct link.
