Safety & Account Limits
Randomized delays, daily caps, and human-like behavior to keep your Instagram and TikTok accounts safe.
Instagram and TikTok watch for behavior that looks automated. Regular intervals (say, exactly one DM every 60 seconds) are a classic bot signature and trigger action blocks.
Random delays (30 to 90 seconds, for example) look human, because that’s what humans do: they take a while on some messages, they fire quick on others, they pause to check something, they come back. DMpro’s randomizer mimics this to keep your accounts safely under the radar.
Not officially published by Meta, but community-tested guidelines:
- Age 0 to 30 days: 20-40 DMs per day maximum. First week: none, just use the account normally.
- Age 30 to 90 days: 60-100 DMs per day, spread throughout the day.
- Age 90+ days, established: 100-250 DMs per day, in bursts of 20-40 with breaks.
These are ceilings, safer to sit below. Combine with randomized delays for best results.
TikTok is less transparent about limits, but the same conservative approach works:
- New account: 15-30 DMs per day, ramp gradually
- Warm account: 60-120 DMs per day
- Established account: up to ~150 DMs per day, spread across the day
Watch for warnings and reduce immediately if TikTok flags anything.
Multiple techniques baked into every send:
- Randomized delays between each message
- Randomized micro-pauses as the AI drafts (feels like thinking)
- Realistic typing in the DM box, not instant text-paste
- Occasional longer pauses to simulate human breaks
- Daily caps you can configure so DMpro stops on its own
None of this is a guarantee, Instagram and TikTok can and do flag accounts, but the closer you look to human, the safer you sit.
If Instagram temporarily blocks your account from sending DMs:
- Stop all campaigns immediately. Continued sending on a blocked account can escalate to a longer or permanent block.
- Take a break of 24-72 hours. Don’t touch DMs, but log in and browse Instagram normally.
- Resume very slowly: start with a few manual DMs, no automation, for a few days.
- Ramp back up cautiously over 1-2 weeks to your prior volume.
See troubleshooting for the recovery playbook in detail.
Warming up an account = using it like a real person for a while before running any outreach. Typical warm-up:
- Week 1: post 2-3 pieces of content, follow ~20 accounts a day, like/comment normally, no DMs
- Week 2: send 3-5 DMs a day, all manual, to warm connections
- Week 3: send 10-20 DMs a day, mostly manual, start using DMpro sparingly
- Week 4+: gradually scale up to your target volume
Bulk campaigns on a fresh account get shut down fast. Patience pays.
Yes, if you follow account safety hygiene for each:
- One Instagram account per Chrome profile. Don’t switch accounts inside one profile.
- Respect the daily cap on each account individually. Multi-account doesn’t mean multi-limit.
- Space out the accounts’ activity. Don’t run bulk campaigns on 5 accounts at exactly the same time.
- Use different IPs / residential proxies if you’re running many accounts.
DMpro handles the automation safely, account hygiene is on you. See FAQ for more.
